Benefits of Electric Cars

2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE

If you have been a loyal owner of a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM vehicle, you have probably heard the news that there will be releases of fully electric vehicles (EVs) in the near future from these automakers. You may be wondering if you should consider these upcoming models and what the benefits of electric cars are. Let Cornerstone Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram go over why more and more Rogers drivers are opting for an EV below!

What are the Benefits of Electric Vehicles?

While a majority of EVs tend to be more expensive than traditional gas models upfront, there are a lot of benefits of electric cars that make them worthwhile. The top reasons include spending less money down the road and enjoying an improved performance in your drives. Find out other benefits of electric vehicles below:

  • Less Maintenance – An EV will require less maintenance, so you will spend less money as well as time going to service centers in the Anoka area. For instance, they don’t need engine oil, so you don’t have to keep up with oil changes.
  • Quieter & More Peaceful Drive – Without an engine, you will notice how quiet your rides will become. You can finally sit in total silence throughout your commutes!
  • Improved Performance – While traditional gas cars have proven themselves to be reliable, EVs offer a different level of performance that you won’t find in gas cars.

What are the Environmental Benefits of Electric Cars?

Beyond personal benefits, there are also environmental benefits when it comes to driving an electric car:

  • Zero Emissions –  With an EV, you can expect almost zero tailpipe emissions. Most EVs don’t even have an exhaust system, so no matter how much you drive in Coon Rapids, you won’t be causing exhaust emissions as a byproduct.
  • Renewable Energy – Because they are powered by electricity, EVs can benefit from renewable resources such as solar, wind, and even water!

Is There Any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM EV?

While there are only Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM hybrids currently for sale, you can expect to see EVs from respective brands as soon as 2022 and more to come in the next few years! Some models include:

  • RAM 1500 EV by 2024
  • Dodge electric muscle car that is currently known as eMuscle by 2024
  • Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger as EVs (either model could be the eMuscle, but there hasn’t been any confirmation as of now)
  • Jeep Wrangler EV following the hybrid plug-in version
  • Mysterious Chrysler EV that share traits of an SUV and a sedan

All in all, Stellantis, the parent company of these four brands, has already announced they plan to sell “over 40% [sales] in the United States to be low-emission vehicles (LEV) by 2030.”
