How Much Can the RAM 1500 Tow with a V8 Engine?

Did you know there are four powerful engine options for the 2023 RAM 1500? How much can the RAM tow when equipped with the 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine as opposed to the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 Engine? Here is the 2023 RAM 1500 towing capacity by engine type:

3.6L Pentastar®V6 Engine with eTorque

  • 305 hp and 273 lb-ft of eTorque
  • Maximum 7,730-pound RAM 1500 towing capacity

5.7L HEMI® V8 Engine with eTorque

  • 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of eTorque
  • Maximum 12,750-pound RAM 1500 towing capacity

3.0L EcoDiesel V6 Engine

  • 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque
  • Maximum 12,560-pound RAM 1500 towing capacity

6.2L Supercharged HEMI® V8 Engine

  • 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque
  • RAM 1500 towing capacity still TBD, but the 2022 model reached up to 8,100 pounds
